Coming Out of the Shadows

I am attempting to understand the world around me.  Understanding blackness and what that means.  Understanding our capitalist society and the breakdown of American society as a whole.

What is Globalization?  What is sexism? Racism? What does it mean to be a historiographer?  Eagerly watching history being made around you and documenting it. A literature connoisseur.  Absorbing the worlds and lives of others before you?

For so long black people, especially women, who have stepped outside of traditional African-American cultural norms, have been labeled alternative or other.  I believe that a majority of these roles for women have been bent thanks to Black Millenials.

I am here to display how my humanity and blackness are one in the same.

Who am I?

I could tell you that I am a student, a waitress, and a current resident of Baltimore. But that wouldn’t tell you who I am.  I am using this as an attempt to find out; and in the course of finding out, I hope to make discoveries about YOU as well.

This is a worldview from a girl who uses the words. “Me, Myself, and I”, too often.  My lens is complicated.  I often allow the smallest situations to spiral into stressful bouts of tormenting thoughts.  I hope to express myself through these writings and hope to make deep connections with others just like me.
