Searching for wholeness

What does it mean to truly be in awe of something? Is it the majesty of the thing or is it our own imagination? What does it mean for something to be majestic?
The feeling of ecstasy and wholeness that comes from being one with nature. There is this tendency for the human language to lack the vocabulary to describe a feeling of completion. Many of us don’t know what it feels like to be complete. But when you place your feet at the edge of an ocean, how could one not feel complete? Or small? Or minute? To literally witness the earth moving at its own time, in its own pace. Not according to our own plans, but its own. No one tells the tide to come in as the rolling waves clean the beach shores. No one tells the fish not to swim too close to the edge or be pushed on shore along with the current.

No one tells the sun to rise and set so the moon can take advantage of its helpless lover. It just does. It just is.

The edge of the ocean is almost like heaven in the early hours of the morning. The sand under the foam is tan, scattered with rocks and debris from trees yet, still soft. The water is clear as it ombré’ it’s way into natural blues and greens. The translucent fish swim easily with the current, moving from home to home collecting neighbors for breakfast until a large school forms.

If only we could move as easily. At peace and one with nature. Just being one with the way things are. We are always pushing and pulling against the forces of nature. Always working against the current and the tide. Always demanding more from the natural state of things.

If we just took a moment to be honest, attentive and, work within the timing of things, perhaps we would feel more complete.
